Tail light question
Tail light question
Hello im new here and this is my first post. I have an 05 ex se and am having trouble with my tail lights. I ordered the black jdm leds off of ebay and installed them however i cannot find a light bright enough to shine through for the tails to even look on when headlights shine on them. The bulbs that came with it do not fit into the tail light harness, but rather the turn signals instead. Is there something i am missing or something im doing wrong? Please let me know any help would be greatly appreciated.
Re: Tail light question
they probably gave you the wrong model if it wont fit the harness probably 03's. i would send them back and put the stock ones back on its extremely important that people know your stopping when there behind you obviously . another thing those cheap ebay leds wont last very long anyway.do you have pics ???
Re: Tail light question
No i dont have any personal pics i can upload but their all over ebay and havent found any complaints about them so i just figured it was something i was hooking up wrong. But the bulbs they gave me are not he right size and the taillight seems to be so thick i dont know what could shine through it. The leds i bough at autozone are a little brighter but still definitely not bright enough to be consodered legal

Re: Tail light question
if you have an 01-03, most of those ebay led tails are for 04-05. the led portion should be dim for park light and bright for brake. the signal and reverse uses a regular filament bulb. so you may need to do some rewiring of the connectors. the lights physically fit, but between the model years honda changed around the lights a bit in the back. look at the diy here for swapping old to new tails and it will give you an idea about rewiring.

Check out this thread if you insist on doing LED tails.
