Performace Chips Question

I see these performance chips advertised that can increase HP up to 35 hp. Has anyone placed these chips in their car? What results have you experienced? Do they hurt the car in anyway? Do they void the warranty?

Thanks in advance

Re: Performace Chips Question

maybe 5 hp, or none. and they can damage the engine based on the stuff they change. its not good to mess with critical engine sensors and timing without having the actual car on a dyno. generic chips are never a good idea cause every car is different. now if youre talking about those silly resistors called "performance module/chip" on ebay, thats a total scam. its just a $1 resistor you buy at radioshack to fool your car's air temp sensor into thinking its always cold outside so the ecu dumps in more fuel. not only does this cause worse performance and poor mpg, it clogs up the engine with deposits from unburnt fuel.
