First off, Im new to driving a manual transmission so I could just be imagining things lol.

When I shift into 2nd gear under decent acceleration (3000 rpm's) it always seems to be a little jerky. This doesn't happen on any other gear though. If the rpms are lower when shifting into 2nd it isnt rough.

I have a mechanic friend who says 2nd gear is touchy because of the gearing?

Is anybody else experiencing this? Once again, this is my first manual trans. so I'm a noob at this lol.

are you letting go of the clutch really fast cause that will make it jerk

Yeah, I think a lot of people experience the same thing with the second gear.. It's indeed a bit touchy. I don't think it's a problem related to your particular car.

Just let off the clutch a little slower. I find it does it more when the car is cold but I would say it's normal too ... If you are really concerned, change your transmission fluid. That might help as well.

Thanks for your replies guys! Im not that worried about it, all the fluids were just changed. This makes me feel a lot more at ease.
