best place to put jackstands?

i know people use different places to put them, but i want an idea of who uses what spots? for the most part i have just been using the same little lip near the sideskirts that i do to jack the car up with. its annoying as hell though because even if you put the jack on one edge of it, you can barely fit the jackstand on the other edge. i never really trust it.

do you guys use control arms too? where else would work good? also do you guys jack up one side all in one shot and put the jackstand? then go do the same to the other side? or do you lift each side two or three times, alternating which side you do?

Re: best place to put jackstands?

You should ideally be using the frame rails. But use the rails in front of the bolts where it's reinforced. In the back there are these reinforced plates with an oval punched out of them right inside of the lip thing that you can use. If you can avoid it you should never use those stock jack points near the side skirts, if those things fail you are looking at serious quarter panel/door/under pan damage. As for jack points, you can use the center of the subframe to jack up the front all at once, there is a square plate in the center just for this purpose. But you can't do that if you are jacking up the back as well. Having 3 wheels off the ground is a big NO NO!! Don't do it.
