Re: Removing 2002 civic coupe Stereo

Well, might as well use that DIY and see how far you get. If you encounter something different that you can't figure out yourself post it as a question here. Besides, whatever minor difference there happens to be I'm sure you can find your way around it! Just remember, some of the stuff that you have to pull on you gotta pull hard. Honda has about 1, 000, 000, 000 clips holding that interior together!!

Re: Removing 2002 civic coupe Stereo

What part are you having trouble with? You do have to pull the cigarette lighter trim piece out as there are 2 screws underneath you have to remove before you can pop the part of the dash out that houses the deck.

^ This one might help you out, its from a 2001.

If not that one, maybe this one will:

Other than that, I'm all out of resources! Don't forget, you can't pull out the trim piece with the cigarette lighter in it if your cupholders are open! I found out the hard way and almost broke the cup holder lid.

Re: Removing 2002 civic coupe Stereo

im not totally sure, ive never tried on an automatic, but i have an 02 standard and its pretty easy. maybe you can try this, hope it helps.

put your finger in the cigarette adapter and pull the area out i have circled with green and unclip it from the harness. then pull out the trim area i have circled in red. once you have that done, where i have the yellow arrow there is a screw that you need to unscrew (there might be two but i think i remember one...). once you have that done just wiggle it around a bit and you should see the whole area holding all your head unit, storage, climate control, etc etc start to move and you should be able to just pull forward and it will come out. just undo the harnesses that clip in to remove it.
