Re: Aem ems?
If you are seriously considering EMS, just go with the 30-1030 box. Don't worry about the extra expense of the 30-1030U (the one with the internal UEGO). With the U model, you can use a wideband for tuning and the EMS will use wideband feedback instead of just narrowband. But here is the kicker, you can't use a gauge to see your wideband reading unless you buy an AEM serial gauge. Here is an even bigger kicker, the regular EMS can use wideband feedback from an external wideband. Just buy an AEM, PLX or innovative wideband and wire the 0-5V output wire into your primary o2 wire to the ECU and tell EMS to use that signal and ignore everything else. As for the actual benefits of a standalone, they are fabulous. If you plan to turbo or swap, IMO it should be the first thing you do. If you don't plan to do either, its not really worth it for just bolt-ons.
