Re: led license plate lights

i'm pretty sure you can have amber and red, too? if i'm not mistaken...

i took some stupid class when i got stationed in california and they mentioned that any type of aftermarket lighting (i.e. Horsepower Increasing Wiper Fluid Nozzles) had to be in the form of red, yellow, or white and not a distraction...i dunno i guess it doesn't matter...if a cop has his mind made up to pull you over it's going to happen lol.

Re: led license plate lights

ok fiend, here you go, i took pictures of most of the lights that you asked for.

if you have any questions about any just ask away.

on another note, i dont think ive seen anyone else with this type of parking light bulb in any car. i was iffy about trying it out, but i ordered a set to see how they would look and i really really like it. its designed just like a projector lens except on a much smaller scale so the light output is pretty unique.

Re: led license plate lights

lol @ kcari.

car looks nice man..my setup is pretty similar. people like us are just asking to get pulled over.

question tho is your interior glow produced by the accent lighting on the ceiling of your car?

i have 4 x 12'' tubes located under the seats and dash of mine but obviously only the lower interior portion of my car lights up. if thats from your dome light i'll most definetly have to order those LED's.

Re: led license plate lights

holy ***** untuned, give me a shovel cause i'm diggin those parking lights, lol...that was lame...i really like your dome light too, it looks good. i did my maplights blue but i got those translucent tubes from autozone and trimmed them up to where i could just slide the stock bulb in the tube and put them back in...they were like $0.70 so i figured what the hell and it does make them light up blue but it really put a restriction on the light output...same color as yours but nowhere near that much light output, those lights look really good. i'll keep that ebay seller you mentioned in mind, might have to hit him up soon. thanks for the pics man, looks really good

Re: led license plate lights

leds cant be filtered, if youre talking about them. they keep their original color but will just be hardly visible. blue led behind amber for example will still be mostly blue, because thats the only wavelength of light emitted. filament bulbs emit all colors in different amounts. white leds are a bit weird, since they are really blue leds with a phosphor filter. but the spectrum is nothing like a filament bulb so strange things may happen. white led behind amber lens will prolly be more or less amber, just very dim.

Re: led license plate lights

lightningslp77: yea, all that light is from just my front dome light, and rear dome light which are both blue. out of my 3 front lights, only the middle one is blue, the two side ones (map lights) are both white, because if i need to turn on a light to see something, white is what you want, not the blue. when you open the doors or turn on the dome light, the front middle and the rear light are the only ones that turn on, and yeah those two alone make all that light. i dont have an interior kit installed at all. the only cache is that the brighter you want it, the slightly bigger the bulb is. as i have it now, i have 13-led bulbs installed and they are just barely too long outwards to slide the cover over. i have a set of 2-led bulbs which are the same size as stock. i would think you can go up to a set of 5-led bulbs and not have a problem, but im not sure since ive never tried.

fiend: gearbox is right about the led light emission. ive actually put a set of amber led bulbs (the ones i used in my headlights as my front signals right after i cleared them) in my tail lights. even through the red tail light, the light still shined as amber. i think the only way you could get away with having your amber lens in is if you used amber leds under it, or you might be able to get away with white. i would say just do the diy headlight clearing and get a set of amber led signals if you like the amber. that would look good. i liked the look of it before i got my white ones.

Re: led license plate lights

l blacked out my headlights a few months back but left the amber lens in them cause i liked the way it looked so i'll just keep using the halogen bulbs, i ordered some 194 festoon bulbs for the interior so i'm lookin forward to seeing how that will look.

Re: led license plate lights

Hey guys just bought my LED interior lights from ijdmtoy.com and they look great only thing I worry about is the dome light goes into a very low ominous glow after awhile it locks. I got pics for you guys too.

Full kit comes with
2x Map Lights
1x Dome Light
2x License Plate Lights
1x Trunk Light

Hope you like!

looks good. dome light staying on very dim is normal, cause there is always a tiny bit of juice going to it. it wont drain the battery or anything tho.

Which ones did you buy?

Let me know how it turns out - I'm considering replacing mine too.

What did it cost total?

Re: led license plate lights

to fix hyperflash you need the tridon EP34 LED flasher relay to replace the stock one. it does not have bulb-out warning so even if you have leds or no bulb hooked up it will still flash at normal speed.

I bought:

1 Regular festoon (square-ish shape, 9 leds)
5 WLED miniature wedge base bulbs (6 leds)

All bulbs are natural white color.

I was worried about fitment because on the sylvania website, they have multiple replacements for the dome light.. Maybe they are all the same size?

The total cost with priority shipping was $25.00. I dont think that is too bad considering autozone carries a very limited selection of the same brand for double the price.

I'll post up some pics when I get it done! Probably sometime early next week.
