rear sway
rear sway
Good morning ladies and sirs,
I have a thirst for knowledge right now. My 04 with the value package does not have a rear sway bar. As I had understood it, I thought they all had one after 2002. Anyways, I was looking at the DIY and it looks like such a big deal to put a mounting bracket on there. Couldn't the brackets that hold the bar just be installed? And what kind of set up does one with a factory rear sway bar have? Could it not be substituted?

Re: rear sway
my ex has brackets in the middle for the bushings which should be easy to install, but i think your problem is where to mount the endlinks to on each side.

Re: rear sway
Thanks for that site. I thought that my VP was in between a DX and a LX. I guess not. Geez. Does some one have a picture of their factory rear sway bar? I just ordered the Eibach Sportline kit. It comes with a rear sway bar. I'm on a mission to make it work. I would like to see what has to be done for it to fit.

Re: rear sway
Pick up the progress rear sway bar adapter kit... comes with a way to mount the endlinks and a way to mount the brackets (less the bushings) to hold the bar to that supporting arch on the frame. Its just a box of hardware to get the job done- a lot of it is specialized so dont bother trying to find a way to get around forking the money out kuz it cant be done. Oh, and dont be fooled by the instructions, you dont need the progress tie bar or sway bar to use it.

Re: rear sway
Yep, just buy it and use the bar.. but you'll need to get bushings that may or may not come with whatever bar you end up buying. Endlinks are also included in the sway bar adapther kit. Price is 130... http://www.dezod.com/pd_progress_ant...ar_adapter.cfm
