CF Hood pins needed?

Hey all,
Just installed my Seibon CF Hood yesterday. I do notice a little shaking while driving at high speeds but seems to be staying in place well. I tried pulling up on the hood w/ some force and nothing so I am wondering if I am in need of hood pins? I know the "just to be safe" side of the story, but I really don't want to drill into my hood.

Re: CF Hood pins needed?

seibon seems to be the best as far as the latch goes, but its still cf afterall and can crack easily. most people dont use pins with seibon hoods, but i still recommend it.

I wouldn't use them if its seibon. I have a no name brand hood and my latch was spider cracking near the latch so i had no other choice. Also noticed it jump up and down at high speeds.

Re: CF Hood pins needed?

it dosent matter what brand you have always use pins just to be safe ive seen and heard to many horrer stories not to use them. there are diffrent styles of pins
my fav is aerocatch its flat and blends in to the hood but you have to cut the hood to fit something i dont want to do im getting the round carbon fiber style ones that lock so i just have to drill a hole. i know it sucks drilling into your new hood but you get peace of mind and it holds the hood down better.

yeah there are some very low profile hoodpins that are cf color so they blend in. i know some are on ebay, the round disks with cf on top and its almost invisible.
