Some LED taillight questions...
Some LED taillight questions...
Aight, so I'm new to this forum and to driving (got my junior license not more than 6 months ago (already got a ticket for going 80 in a 35 lol))
But anyways, I made the mistake of buying some altezza taillights for my 01 civic ex coupe:
http://www.wooddashexperts.com/custo...at=9740&page=1
(IMO wooddashexperts.com sucks)
So I decided that I would reduce the rice-ocity of my car and try to find some OEM looking taillights which I did. They're LED and they look dumb cute, but I still don't wanna make any rash decisions like before.
I found a pair at this site:
http://www.directbodykits.com/Produc...C&Show=ExtInfo
And I found a pair at this site:
http://www.speed-element.com/servlet/Detail?no=337
Now the first site sells them for around $200 and the second site sells them for $145. Why? Which site should I buy from?
The first site also says that they're made by Spyder and the other says they're made by Sonar. Which one is more reliable?
ALSO: Because I have an 01 civic and the lights are for 04-05 civics, do I need to do any converting to make them fit?

Re: Some LED taillight questions...
Buy which ever you want. Search the forum for conversion tips. Search for taillight swap DIYs. What color is your car? Might want to think about Depo taillights. look good on darker cars.

Re: Some LED taillight questions...
might as well get the less expensive ones. Before you install them, test the seals to find leaks before you install them. Obviously seal the leaks before installing them. Dont want to have to pull them off later. Even if they have drain holes, condensation can build up so try to eliminate that problem early.
Re: Some LED taillight questions...
ive been looking around to get some new lights on mine too. ive been on ebay and other sites, but is there a way to tell wut ur getting will be good stuff?? i mean how can u tell if ur getting a sweet deal or ur $50 taillights are exactly wut u paid for.
Re: Some LED taillight questions...
the only way you will know for sure your getting good stuff is if someone you trust says so. if your buying on ebay, find out what brand they are selling then look at their website. ie, depo lights on ebay, go to depo's website. check em out. if you get ripped on ebay, you have good chance of getting your money back because its ebay. ive never had problems with buying on ebay. with the taillights, like i posted before earlier on here i think, water test them before you install them and seal leaks if you find them before you install them.
