vacuum gauge reading problem

Today I hooked up my vacuum gauge and reading is not steady. I used 3/16" clear hose. It's fluctuating between 20"-22" at the idle and even more during acceleration. I can't read when needle is jumping like that. When I look the tachometer needle is steady, but I can feel slight vibration on the steering wheel and on the floor mat. What could be wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

Nothing. It's supposed to do that.

When I connected to my brother 92 corolla the readings were steady. So it's not supposed do that. There is defenitely something wrong.

Re: vacuum gauge reading problem

I think it might be to do something with valve clearance(too tight or too lose). Car has only 58,000 miles and I don't think I need valve adjustment yet.

Re: vacuum gauge reading problem

Does anybody experience fast needle fluctuation(3"-4") during acceleration?
