Driver side floor mat hooks..

do you guys have hooks or something that holds the driver side floor mat in place? my floor mat has 2 holes in it near the base of the seat and i've looked and the carpet has holes but there aren't any hooks or anything. damn thing keeps sliding up towards the pedals. just wondering if there's something i'm not seeing here or if that's something you have to put in yourself. Thanks.

Re: Driver side floor mat hooks..

i read about that, that there should be hooks to hold it but i never got any hooks either. it wouldn't mind having the hooks cuz i have the same issue with my matt sliding up.

Re: Driver side floor mat hooks..

x2. I have a shoe string holding the mat to the seat rails. I'd really like the hooks though.

Re: Driver side floor mat hooks..

mine had hooks, but i took them out long ago. should be able to order them on majestic, but you'll prolly have to pull the carpet to install them. if i remember, they bolt to front of the floor board brace that the seat bolts to.

Re: Driver side floor mat hooks..

i only have one hook so i guess the other one fell off,
they should clip on.
i would just make something to hold your floormats in place

Re: Driver side floor mat hooks..

i have them in my car, i dont think ive seen a model without them. what i have arent really hooks, theyre more like little plastic bolt looking things that are sticking upward. you just place your floormat on them and it doesnt move. something should definitely be there though.

Re: Driver side floor mat hooks..

I think I have metal studs sticking up that the mat goes onto. Along with metal eyelets in the mat.

Re: Driver side floor mat hooks..

yes thats what i have. i think they are actually metal studs too, not plastic...unless maybe they have a plastic piece coating them. but yea the mat has two holes that have metal rings in them that hook onto the studs.

Re: Driver side floor mat hooks..

yea the floor mat has the holes but there's just 2 flaps in the carpet where i would expect something to be sticking up to go through the holes. hm..

Re: Driver side floor mat hooks..

Hey degameth: thanks for the hooks. I have a quick question though. I just looked at where the hooks mount and I get the feeling I might be screwed. Do you have air conditioning vents that go to the backseat under your carpet? I kind of don't think coupes have the for some reason. I don't remember whether or not yours did when I looked at it today.

Re: Driver side floor mat hooks..

I dont think my car has vents going under the seat, yours does? I just looked at it and you screw the mounts into the metal thats there, i guess you could glue it or use some other material just to have the hooks there but i'm not sure.

Yeah... I noticed after I posted that the instructions stated 2001 coupe and sedan so I guess I'm good to go.
