paying duties on rims

I've purchased a bunch of things online and the problem I always seem to have is that I pay for the item, pay for shipping, then get slammed again at my door with customs/duties fees that always seem to be hit and miss. I live in Canada and it almost always happens when I purchase anything from the states.

Where do you guys purchase your tires/rims from? I'm looking to buy some new ones for my car right now and if possible, I'd like to find something with good pricing that doesn't have to go over the border. Or do any of you guys know of any good companies in the states that will ship without me having to pay the customs fees? I would just really hate having paid good money and then paying another 2 or 300$ at the door which is pretty common.

Thanks.

Re: paying duties on rims

ouch. i'd say have them shipped somewhere close to the border in the united states and drive over and pick them up. save money i guess. gotta find someone trust worthy or know relatives.

Re: paying duties on rims

haha nafta. pfft.

if i lived closer to the border that might be an option...but i live about an 8 hour drive away which sucks.

its may and i still have my winter tires on because the rubber on my stock rims is almost bald. so i kind of REALLY need a nice set haha. I FEEL PAIN ROLLING ON FAT BLACK RIMS AND TIRES.

where do some of you guys order your rims from? local shops or online? what are some of the websites....or do you guys ebay them?
