Is 01 immobilzer different from 03?

Is 01 immobilzer different from 03?
I know the ECUs are the same, so I swapped the 01 for an 03 to see if problem continued. I got a key cut without a chip @ ace. I hold the 01 key near the ignition and starts, but I put the 03 near it and no luck?
