Looking for Input

So I'm saving up to get my next two items. First is Cold Air Intake and I was going to get the AEM V2. I have a 2004 Honda Civic LX Coupe. But anyone have any suggestions on this or a better one. I'm also saving for a DC Sports Exhaust system. Again any suggestions on whats anything better or how this exhaust is. I don't have a lot of money but I'm also willing to save up to get quality equipment. Thanks.

Re: Looking for Input

I have both. Very nice quality on both of them. You could prolly save a few $$ just buying a B.S. cold air for peanuts because it's going to do the same thing anyway. The performance of a V2 compared to any normal CAI is too close to justify spending the xtra $$ IMO. I have the single can DC sports exhaust on a 421 DC ceramic header, sounds good. Mellow, not ricey and the exhaust/CAI combo. gave me a lot more low and mid range and all in all made the car more fun to drive.

Re: Looking for Input

So if I were to buy a universal CAI from Autozone thats 50 dollars the performance is close to the 300 dollar V2... Just to me that doesn't seem right but you never know...

Re: Looking for Input

it doesn't seem right but trust me your not going to feel the extra couple ponies a V2 will get you over a cheap autozone one. Honestly if I could go back, i'd just find some CAI piping, have a short ram and buy a K&N cone filter for 1/3 of the price I paid for the V2. More beer $$$..

Re: Looking for Input

the sound is smooth, but loud.... so loud, even dynamating the entire trunk with a silencer on the exhaust was loud...again, I have pretty high expectations when it comes to driving comfort... gonna look into an RSR or Apexi WS2

Re: Looking for Input

I'm looking at procivic.com at their exhaust and performance parts. Anyone know who else has a good selection? Any suggestions on the Magnaflow exhaust?

Re: Looking for Input

I have the aem v2 intake and the dc sports twin canister exhaust with matching headers and a high flow cat. If you want to spend the extra money you can't go wrong. You're looking at a 10-20 horspepower jump with an ex/si civic. I have however had a problem with welds on the exhaust canisters and intake breaking. I hope this info was helpful.
