need suggestions
i have an 03 civic stock engine and don't want to do a swap i want to see how far i can push the engine that's already in it. it's 127hp, and i found a turbo that claims it'll put it at around 200hp. then of course i can do cams, under drive pulleys, and forged pistons. but that's all i can find for my car. my questions is what else can i do to it (other than nos, which would probably just blow the girly engine lol) and how far as far as hp goes to you think i can get it? and the last question is why the hell does my guage read 160 when it stops at like 120?

Oh geeze...
Dont believe what HP ratings that things claim.. your 127hp was measured at the flywheel, but if you dyno it, getting 98-100ishhp to the wheels. After intake and ex header + downpipe & catback, I'm getting 107hp/107.7tq to the wheels. Its kinda hard to get power out of the motor, no1's going to lie to you.
You can do a lot more then what you know about. You can swap injectors, valves, valve springs, valve guides, retainers, p&p the head to open it up, oversized valves if you want, standard aftermarket or oversized pistons- high compression/standard/low compression pistons are out there. You have several options for piston rods, you can get the block sleeved and bored, you can get the crank micro polished and knife edged... You can swap injectors. You can also change the clutch, cam (Crower stage 1/2/3), pulleys, lsd, etc... Nitrous is on option, several ppl used to spray on this board back in the day- its not as common anymore, but you can def do it- it wont blow your car up if your smart about it and actually know what your doing.
Your car might top at around 120/130 with the stock ecu settings, but if you get into heavily modifying your motor with AEM EMS or Hondata Kpro- you can raise the redline beyond 6750 making use of that red band on your tach, and also get around the governor that cuts your speed off.

i checked for a hondata and didn't see one available for this model. do u have any links for piston rods cause i have yet to see any on the net for my car. also what is, "you can get the block sleeved and bored, you can get the crank micro polished and knife edged" i never heard of that...bout how much does it run $ wise?
Re: need suggestions
what would you recommend i do? since by your sig it looks like we got the same car. i just paid my car off and i already have the body fixed up so i'm ready for the engine work. basically whats the best set up for it?

Hondata does make kpro for our car:
http://www.hondata.com/kpro.html
Here you can find some rods, camshafts, as well as a crank that they have made for our cars (hard to find), http://crower.com/misc/m_cat.shtml
One of the vendors sells a lot of stuff for the D17
http://www.dezod.com/cat_7thgencivic.cfm
sleeved and bored... well, if you want to reinforce your cylinder walls you can have them sleeved, basically a metal sleeve put inside your cylinder, and then you can have it bored out to fit the piston that you want to run.. machine shops do this, Darton sells them- not cheap, and some ppl argue that they arent needed, but if your running ridiculously high HP's and really pushing the engine it could save you lots of trouble.
A micropolished and knife edged crank can be done with your existing crank. Take it to a machine shop and they basically file down the counterweights to make them lighter, and bring them to a point, and polish it up. Less rotational weight on the crank means it can spin faster as the cylinders fire.
this is a subjective question- there is no "best" setup. What are your goals?

If you plan on autocrossing, you better mod for the class. One little mod, especially internals, can throw you into a class that you have no way of competing in.
