My 04 Civic Sedan has 55,000 miles on it, should i trade it up for a 2000 Honda Civic Si with 88,000 miles on it?. The only thing I'm worried about is the engine going out faster on the Si than my current car because it could have been driven pretty hard before this. But i am looking for more power and a stick shift. The Si is listed at like 9,985, and i could proly sell my car for around 11 or 12 thousand right now

No way man.....
Atleast go for a Type-S.
MazdaSpeed Protoge (It's Turbo and would respond very well to mods)
WRX.
1999, 2000 Si have crazy high insurance, plus they have little torque.
I live in New England so I am a little biased towards the WRX, but to each his own.

nah the si 2000 is one of my favoirte cars, im jus wondering if 82,000 miles is alot for tht engine. Yeah it has 82 my mistake, and i know these engines resppond pretty well to bolt-ons, so it could be a good deal.

The Si has like 17 more horsepower than your car. You can get that for less than $1000 with the right parts.

94 integra LS I/h/e and GSR tranny I would rape SI's and in my EM2 I beat LS integra's with I/H/E so dude like DEX said mod the EM2 also when you beat a bseries and tell them you got a D its funny

Yeah i mean the Si, has got 160hp and 111tq. stock, itd be faster than what i'm used to because my car's got 115 hp and 110 tq. stock, i mean mainly its the automatic transmission thts killin me right now. I mean yeah i could drop a K20A2 in my car and switch the transmission to a 6 spd. manual or whatever but thats gona be a tremendous amount of work and money. I wass just trying to see if this was going to be a good trade or not for the Si. I dont really wana boost my car and I was thinkin about the B series Swap but thats not avaible yet, so I mean there arent a while lot of options for the 7th gen. Waiit how the hell did u beat an integra with I/H/E, D series dont respond to bolt-ons well at all haha. But i would like to keep my car at the same time, just need it to be faster.

hey DEX, what mods would those be because i know these engines don't respond well to bolt-ons, well at least mine doesn't aha. I got an AEM SRI v2 intake, it helped a lil but not a whole lot

Am I incorrect thinking the Si only had 127 horsepower? Unless I'm wrong, you're confusing the old Civic Si with the K20a3 engine in the RSX. Which of course, would smoke a Si.

I'm not a good person to talk to about engine bolt one experience since I have nothing but if I were to make a guess I'd say for catching up with a Si you'd have to get into internals, not just intakes. Swap out the cams, valves, upgrade the plugs/wires and even tune the ECU. This is just a guess but it sounds like a good start.

Yeah the 2000 Civic SI's have a B16A1 Engine which produce 160hp, id rather get tht then droppin a couple grand for internals, that the D17A1 hasnt even been proved to respond to those well either.

the 02-05 si (aka ep3) has the k20a3 - 160hp stock
the 02 rsx-s(aka dc5) has the k20a2 - 200hp stock
the 05-current rsx-s(dc5) has the k20z1 - i wanna say 220hp but doesnt respond to boltons.
