Lately I have been catching heat for my ride. I have a 4-door EX sedan. Now i have shaved weight with a CF hood, Centerforce clutch, featherlight rims, my guess near 100-125 ibs. now i also have a short ram intake and some performance Kuhmo Escta tires. Believe it or not but with my 5 speed, i can do 0-60 in official clocked time of 7.7 seconds. my car is pretty decent with the few mods it has. I catch crap from everyone else in the world it seems, and i notice there isnt much 7th gen civics in Honda Tuning or Sport Compact. i was wondering did i make a bad choice in beefing up my civic? i know its a 4-door but its still got some get up and go, i have won many races, street style, against half a dozen eclipses, other civics of younger generation, dodge steaths, ford probe GTs, and many other cars with GT badges or soem kidn of performce upper on them. many with bigger engines. I dont get it, why am i catching flak for my car?? i got the performance to scoot a lil, what am i missing?

mostly haters, but this is NOT a fast car, most of us here have them, and they are not fast, its sad, but true. there really isnt much love for the 7th gen in the import world, it just wasnt a shock and awe civic, just take it in stride, and love ur car!! here, we all love our 7th gens,and ull find much love for it here, take pics, post em up, lets see what u got, and we will give u a better opinion, and mos tof all welcome to the site

You're not missing anything man. People talking trash. Just like on the field or the court. If no one was saying anything at all, either your the best and no one thinks they can touch you, or you're not worth the time. Since the latter is not the case, don't worry about it.

Now if you're tired of throwing money at the car, thats understandable. The only way you're car isn't worth it is if you say so. Until then, keep turning wrenches. Practice and experience turns into respect in due time.

Lol, I have to agree with green01civic4d. Our car is a challenge. But that's the point right? Ive got a 4dr EX too. I'm running the short-ram setup right now. The short-ram is pretty loud. When its just me, I don't mind. When others are in the car, everyone always asks me, "Is your car that loud outside of the car?" So I fabbed up a little "muffler" guy for the intake pipe that was way less restrictive than the factory resonator. I get the throttle response without all of the noise. Problem solved (my perceived problem anyway, if you like the intake sound, np).

Personally, I'm trying to keep the car as stock-looking as possible. Mostly to avoid unwanted attention if you know what I mean. Its hard to hide the fact that its lowered, but other than that it looks like a factory black 4dr.

If you want to paint your car radioactive-lime with playing cards airbrushed all over it, go for it. What counts is quality. If its clean, polished and professional, people will know you put time and thought into it.

Anyone can get a tattoo, but a tat that looks good and means something to you is what counts. Kind of like our cars.

so just keep your head up and just plan this out on the direction you want your car to go. it dont matter if its a 4 door. have fun with this and dont let anyone discourage you. remeber this is YOUR car. not theres.
