??EX tranny onto LX block??

this is for those of you who may have an EX tranny bolted up to an LX (D17a1) block. did any of you have any problems with the install like modifications of any kind. or did it bolt up with no problems? my LX needs a new reverse fork because i abused it one night (long story), replaced would cost me over a grand so i'll just replace the whole tranny. any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Re: ??EX tranny onto LX block??

i beleive that they are the same bolt pattern, and should bolt up no problem the only differences between the two are 1rst and 5th gears, 1rst is shorter, and 5th is too, ur gas mileage will go down because the gear ratios are different, but u may find that it gets up and goes slightly quicker in 1rst gear, itll be about 500rpm diff between lx and ex transmissions because of 5th gear, at the same speed,

ex trans@70 in 5th
3500rmp appx

lx trans @70 in 5th
3000rpm appx

just to give an idea
