Civic In Australia (need Help!!!)

Hi im from sydney australia and i bought my civic a few years ago, and i was just wondering if anyone can help find out what model civic mine is, your civic models are either LX, DX or EX and Si i think, in aus we only have 3 models they Hybrid, Hatch and Sedan, pretty **** ay! i got the sedan and am trying to buy stuff for it from usa, and i need to figure out what model it is, i have posted some pics, the engine is a D17 single cam, non v-tec lol, so would appreciate some help if anyone is interested and maybe some feed back on it, haven't really done much so far as there hasnt been much in aus to buy so im trying overseas, ive got just a 2.25" straight through exhaust with a 4" cannon, halo head lights, lowered 1.5" and 18" rims, and sound system, oh and i got a sunroof put in. so if anyone wants to comment that would be awsome!

thanks

Re: Civic In Australia (need Help!!!)

from what you mentioned it sounds like it would be the equivalent to a Civic LX here in the states.

Yep. No vtec = D17a1 = DX/LX. The only mechanical difference between DX/LX is the color of the trim and the LX came stock with Air conditioning (I think)

I wonder how much it would be to do an EX headswap out in AUS - shipping the stuff would be a pain in the *** if they didn't sell vtec d17a2's in the dealerships.

Re: Civic In Australia (need Help!!!)

the exhaust is different on the lx too. has the cat bolted to the header instead of under the car like the ex. otherwise most parts are universal for 01-05, same basic engine bay design.

pics still dont work. Try again. click "GO ADVANCED" and then scroll down to add attachments. We can view them from there, no need to try to post them inside the message kuz it gets complicated- just attach them.

I meant the DX and the LX share the same exhaust (unless I'm mistaken). EX is different like gearbox says.

Re: Civic In Australia (need Help!!!)

I'm from Aus too. For us to headswap we'd have to take the head from the Civic VI (hatch) which was the only vtec civic here... sorta looks like a Honda Jazz/Fit. But there's hardly any modded 7th gens over here, just an unpopular model which is regarded as a "grandma car".... but all the more reason to prove them wrong

Re: Civic In Australia (need Help!!!)

hey im from aus to. sydney. it's hard to find parts here.

i had the same problem on comparing aus models to the us models, but i am pretty sure mine's the LX.

i really like my car, it's definitely not a "grandma car"

Re: Civic In Australia (need Help!!!)

sorry to say that we cant even do the vtec swap as they are different. i have looked into it and found out its a waste of money to make it work as there are some custom things that need to be changed. thats y i changed my civic to my daily driver and bought an RX7 for a fast car.
