STi blue or not?
STi blue or not?
hey, as the title states, I'm interested in painting my 2002 ex civic which is currently nighthawk pearl black. I would like to leave my carbon fiber hood unpainted but i'm debating whether i should paint the sides or not and leave the middle exposed carbon fiber. I'm thinking of painting the entire car the (STI Blue or the Nissan Z (Datona Blue), I wand to leave the roof and the trunk black...I have some pictures of what I'm trying to do...I need your suggesting on whether to repaint it black or paint it blue. I've been tossing this up for about a month and I could have the car painted as early as next week. Tell me what you guys think I should do? Thx.

I think if you are going to keep the carbon fiber hood I would keep it black but, if you had a non carbon fiber hood I would definitely say to get the Daytona blue color that's what I planned on doing later on with my car. But it's quite the price so Black is a nice all around color that looks great.

thats not that great of a picture but i get the idea... u should paint ur trunk..dont leave it black unless its CF...that wont look right...and paint ur roof imo... the blue is a nice color.. but it is ur car.. u should be happy with whatever u do.. if u think itll look nice then go for it.. that one guy had sti blue and it was a great color...get a good quality paint job tho..that will make or break it..

check out that link...that was sorta my inspiration to do what i'm thinking...
as far as the quality I met up with these dude that has a shop down the road from my house and he quoted me for 3000 dollars to do jams and all. He will fix the dent that is behind my driver side door as well. As far as references, he told me that i could call the local honda dealer cuz he does there work for them all the time and I was checking out some other cars he had in the shop and they looked good quality.

I think the carbon fiber hood would could be very hot next to the sti blue. Im kind of iffy on leaving the trunk and roof black though. If you can find a carbon fiber trunk then go with leaving the roof black. Otherwise paint everything that isnt carbon fiber sti blue. Why the color change??

black is too hard to keep up with, i have a lot of scratches on the car that urk me, and i live in connecticut, where 6 months of the year my car is constantly dirty and i see it with black everyday...i like black, but its too hard to keep it clean.
