Header Problem

How many people have changed their header on their own (DIY)? Am I the only one who's had a problem? The nut in the middle came off with no problem, the one to the left is now rounded, and the one to the right is hard for me to get a bite on because of the tight space near the alternator. This is so easy, yet so fustrating. My car is in my sig.

Re: Header Problem

Hmm.. when I first put in my kamikaze header, it was a pain in the *** to reach some nuts, but nothing too difficult.. as for your rounded nut, that kinda sucks.. were you using a socket or a wrench?

Re: Header Problem

Just put a 6" extension on your socket get at the one on the right. That way your socket can turn freely in front of the alt. Other than that, I've had mine on and off at least 5 times in the last month and never had a problem with it.

Re: Header Problem

hey, dont forget to use some penetrating oil, makes life so much better and easier, some pb blaster is the best, but any penetrating oil will work, and as for the rounded bolt, sears sells sockets designed for removing rounded bolts, i got the wrenches when i had that problem on my strut, cost u about 30 bucks tho
