Re: lowering springs...
I have Tein S-Techs...bought them from EBAY for 130 shipped last summer....they settle around 1.5'' and are great springs overall...I would highly recommend them
Re: lowering springs...
i feel every bump in the road. to me, this means it rides like a low rider. I've had them for 6 years now and I'd say the suspension travel i've lost on bumpy roads may not justify the drop. on smooth roads the car is tight and responsive, but if I had it to do all over again I wouldn't have lowered it or not lowered it as much. i've always heard sportlines are NOT the way to go on a civic.
city streets are horrible. i didn't hear anyone mention a camber kit but I'm guessing everyone knows they will need one in the rear.
i will say this though, when you are running 120-130 down the interstate and the car just feels planted to the ground like it's on rails, that's when I really appreciate my springs.

Running 130mph on the interstate gets people killed. Seriously.
I wouldn't go with some no-name springs, the names that are out there are big for a reason. People have used their products because they work. Go with a good company like Tein or Eibach and you won't be disappointed.

Your feeling every bump on the road is more likely caused by your 18" wheels then your springs & dampers.

Re: lowering springs...
i would still suggest these. If you look you could probably find them a little cheaper.

Re: lowering springs...
If you upgrade your struts, you won't have a problem. Some users (SLO REX) have, well, actually, were, dropped about 3" on stock struts with no apparent problems. It's all dependant on the car. Your ride won't be as smooth and you will run the risk of blowing them, yes, but that's not a prevalent issue on these cars. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong)
I know Tokico struts are a favorite for dropped users.

Re: lowering springs...
I have s-techs with stock shocks/struts for almost a year now and no problems yet. I agree with the point that was made about how it is dependent on the car.
Furthermore, my s - techs show about 1 and 1/2 finger gap all the way around and im rockin 205/40/17 tires... just fyi i guess...
