Re: lowering springs... goldlines lower 2" although they are really hard to find |
Re: lowering springs... found them for like 165 |
Re: lowering springs... I have Tein S-Techs...bought them from EBAY for 130 shipped last summer....they settle around 1.5'' and are great springs overall...I would highly recommend them |
Re: lowering springs... eiback sportlines and tokica hp's (blues). rides like a lowrider. |
Re: lowering springs... i have sportlines on stock struts and i dont think it's aggressive enough. at least not for me |
Re: lowering springs... sportlines ride like a low rider? not really |
Re: lowering springs... eibach pro kit springs and tokico blues |
Re: lowering springs... those only lower the car like 1.5" thats not really "low rider" |
Re: lowering springs... i feel every bump in the road. to me, this means it rides like a low rider. I've had them for 6 years now and I'd say the suspension travel i've lost on bumpy roads may not justify the drop. on smooth roads the car is tight and responsive, but if I had it to do all over again I wouldn't have lowered it or not lowered it as much. i've always heard sportlines are NOT the way to go on a civic. city streets are horrible. i didn't hear anyone mention a camber kit but I'm guessing everyone knows they will need one in the rear. i will say this though, when you are running 120-130 down the interstate and the car just feels planted to the ground like it's on rails, that's when I really appreciate my springs. |
Re: lowering springs... Running 130mph on the interstate gets people killed. Seriously. I wouldn't go with some no-name springs, the names that are out there are big for a reason. People have used their products because they work. Go with a good company like Tein or Eibach and you won't be disappointed. |

Your feeling every bump on the road is more likely caused by your 18" wheels then your springs & dampers. |
Re: lowering springs... so i think im going to get the S-Techs |

Re: lowering springs... neuspeed sports ftw |
Re: lowering springs... S-techs will treat you real nice. |
Re: lowering springs... yea i think they were like $150 or something but i found them on ebay new for $118 |
Re: lowering springs... s techs dont lower enough in my opinion, still gonna have like a two or more finger wheel gap since they lower 1.5 |
Re: lowering springs... 1.5 not enough lol i havent bought anything yet but im looking at the neuspeeds now |
Re: lowering springs... go with the sports and tokico blues, here is my car with them after about a year with them on, about a 1 finger gap or less all around http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/4...ture001ap0.jpg http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/4...ture003me0.jpg |
Re: lowering springs... i would still suggest these. If you look you could probably find them a little cheaper. http://www.andysautosport.com/honda/...i00039141.html |
Re: lowering springs... alright so i went to go order my springs and a kid behind me was like yo your lowering your car i was like yea...so blah blah balh and then he was like dude you are going to blow your struts within a month my friend blew his in 3weeks and another in little over a month. so im like huh alright. i havent heard much of this so will someone plz give me their input on this. |
Re: lowering springs... If you upgrade your struts, you won't have a problem. Some users (SLO REX) have, well, actually, were, dropped about 3" on stock struts with no apparent problems. It's all dependant on the car. Your ride won't be as smooth and you will run the risk of blowing them, yes, but that's not a prevalent issue on these cars. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong) I know Tokico struts are a favorite for dropped users. |
Re: lowering springs... I have s-techs with stock shocks/struts for almost a year now and no problems yet. I agree with the point that was made about how it is dependent on the car. Furthermore, my s - techs show about 1 and 1/2 finger gap all the way around and im rockin 205/40/17 tires... just fyi i guess... |
Re: lowering springs... stock struts are not ment to be lowered more than an inch. If you lower it 2 or 3 inches your struts will blow. just how long they will last, i dont know. |
