Hey guys, ive been using this site and others like it to get ideas and advice on my car for a short while now.
Ive recently bought a scangauge 2 and have been trying to think of a cool way to mount it other than what everyone else has already done. So here it is.... still in the works though but its a start. I used an extra steering column cover and fiber glassed a mount for the gauge using 1/8 in Plexiglas as a frame and some felt from walmart. Tomorrow I'm gonna Bondo it and give it a final sand before painting it black to match the interior.
Let me know what you guys think.
PS. i really like the scangauge, its quite useful and Ive been getting 43 MPG around town driving up and down through the Appalachians, and Ive been monitoring intake air temp and recently wrapped my exhaust manny with header wrap and have seen a significant improvement in IAT and MPG...try it before you knock it

That's awesome. Nice work. I think he was asking about the gauge itself when he says "yeah, where do you get that!!??"
Maybe not, but I assume. Great job though, can't wait to see your final install.

Oops sorry, didnt understand you. I bought the gauge online. They sell them everywhere. unfortunately you really cant buy one cheaper that ~$160 unless you get lucky. I figured what the hell, why not. Got a new job that pays amazing so might as well.

Looking good!
I just picked up a SG2 myself...don't think I'm that dedicated though!
Does anyone know if there are any XGauge programs for these, other then what's listed on the (ScanGauge) site?

Re: Scangauge 2 Custom Install
have you thought about selling the idea to a manufacturer that could mass produce it? kinda like those gauge bezels that have two holes to fit different aftermarket gauge inside.you would make some money off each sale, and they would do all the hard work in the factory with machines. and you already have a completed prototype.

Make sure you have the gas tank size set to 13.2 and engine at 1.7L and calibrate your speed properly, I did mine at 0 and 100
