Rep Power: 0 2008 civic cooling fan wont work
which fan cools the engine? i put 12 volts to the one on the passenger side and it works. i started car and turned ac on max, neither fan turns on. i jumped out the fan switch, still no fans came on. i tried a new relay,no fans came on. i am not sure what fuses are used under the dash or under the hood for the cooling system. thanks

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Both.
Does the AC work/compressor kick on?
Which 'switch' would this be?
Which relay? There may be several involved in the operation of the fans.
I would use a test light, check all of them.
Then I'd get a wiring diagram if I thought there was a problem.
What problem are you chasing? Overheating?
Is the check engine light on? Got codes?

Temp (25F) is too low for the AC to run unless you have had the engine running long enough to put some heat into the AC system.
Fans won't run until the compressor runs.
That is not a fan switch.
Don't ever just short connectors unless you know exactly what you are doing.
The car does not use a coolant temp switch to run the radiator fan, it is controlled by a temp sensor now. Shorting wires for a sensor can ruin the computer.
Open the radiator cap CAREFULLY and see if the antifreeze level is low. It should be full to the top.
Got a check engine light on? Codes?
Got a way to read live operating data from the computer?
