Question 2007: Bring LX back to life or get Si?

I currently have a 2007 Civic LX Coupe. I originally bought it for work, getting from A to B as economically as possible. I've always loved Civics and now that I have some budget, I'm torn between bring this LX back to life or getting an 07 Si instead. I'd like something with performance now. I'm hoping folks in this forum can enlighten on what it might look like if I wanted to bring my LX up to Si performance standards (and beyond?) or maybe it's just better to get the Si and customize it from there. Any thoughts are appreciated!

our 2015 si requires premium fuel and the display on the dash says always says 25.8 - 27.5 mpg. it's not really all that economical. just an fyi so you aren't surprised. i was. fun car though. we're happy with it!

Yea, I'm not worried about fuel economy at this point. I won't be driving it back & forth daily, so I'd rather have a car that's fun and I can enjoy. My initial instinct was that it wouldn't be economical to both get my LX back up to par and boost its performance. Seems like going with an Si to start with makes more sense for what I want. Now I just have to find one for the right price!

I suggest picking up an SI.

Just be sure to do your homework on the car before purchasing. And read more up on these forums about 8th gen SI and their issues they usually have so that then when you go check some out you can get to the point and you'll know what to look for and keep and eye out for.
