Hi, thanks in advance for reading and answering my questions
1)First of all why are civic coupes 2006 with 100k miles going for 10k on craigslist? even salvage vehicles are near that price.
2)Im really interested on purchasing an 2006 coupe but whats the chances of getting one with a crack engine block? I live in san diego if that makes any difference.
3)Honda will cover the engine if it has a crack right? it doesn't matter if im not the original owner?, so if the car is ah 2006 it should be cover all way until 2014 right?
What should i pay for a 2008 honda civic coupe LX with around 80k miles auto?
Thanks in advance again

There's a difference between asking price and selling price.1)First of all why are civic coupes 2006 with 100k miles going for 10k on craigslist? even salvage vehicles are near that price.
And Hondas hold their resale values very well.

If it's not leaking, it's not cracked. They don't leak until AFTER they crack.whats the chances of getting one with a crack engine block
Serious answer: My guess is far less than 5% actually cracked, more like less than 1%.
I sure can't stay busy replacing them here.

Not quite. 3)Honda will cover the engine if it has a crack right? it doesn't matter if im not the original owner?, so if the car is ah 2006 it should be cover all way until 2014 right?
2006 model year cars started selling in 2005. Some are already past 8 years old now.
The warranty extension is stated as "8 years/unlimited mileage". That's 8 years from the date of original delivery.
They don't care who owns it, this is not Hyundai.
A VIN inquiry MUST show that the vehicle is eligible for this.
Salvage/rebuilt/branded titles are not covered by this warranty extension.
The thing is there a craiglist post with a honda civic 2006, it sells for 8k its an LX automatic and it has 22,000 miles and its clean title it just has a small part of the back of the defense bumped but its still clean title i am just worried about the crack engine issues
