Inline air filter?

Does such a thing as an inline intake air filter exist? As in, one that attaches in the front to a 3" pipe, and at the end to another 3" pipe.

Re: Inline air filter?

I am sure you could make one very easily. I have never heard of that, but if you think about it a filter box is kinda a iinline filter it's just not in a straight line. What are you trying to do, make some kind of fancy ram air intake?

Re: Inline air filter?

Yea, I'm trying to reach a compromise between the amount of air getting pushed into my ducting, and how 'linear' the air flow is. I figured an in line filter would be perfect. I guess an air box is basically as much, but it jumbles the air flow. I'm thinking of something that keeps that air moving in a straight line.

Re: Inline air filter?

Honestly I don't think it will make a difference. My bike has ram air and it doesn't go in a straight line but is very functional

Re: Inline air filter?

my weapon-r secret weapon filter has an adapter on the front for adding a ram air hose. WR even sells the ram air kit too.

Re: Inline air filter?

Yea, I was considering replacing much of the ducting with PVC pipe and painting it gloss black.

The system I posted before sprang a leak and failed while going 107 a few days ago, so I bought an aluminum one and currently have it running straight to the bottom of the car next to the engine.

I was looking at the airbox though and noticed a 2nd way out of it?? Does this opening go anywhere? What does it do? or is it some stupid cosmetic crap? It is to the bottom right of the output port from the air box.
