white stains on engine cover

white stains on engine cover

I have been to see a 2007 Honda Civic Type S today and noticed there was a few faint white stains on the engine cover...what does this mean? should I be wary?

Any help and advice would be appreciated.

Looks like salt deposits. Where is the car located? Could easily be salt spray from the roads in winter.
