I've been stuck in "man land" for so long ( Jeeps, deisel trucks, harleys, powerboats....) and ready for a change.

love the 8th gen look. (plus i'm recently retired military) so i joined to find out all i can about this generation.

I've had one civic before (87dx i put a totalled CRX engine in) smoked them pizza cutters all day.

might even get my first AUTO (i'm getting old, and they are getting better).

are there any real differences between the 2drs and 4drs (besides number of doors..?) i'm kinda beyond the need for "cool points", i want functional (with a little sporty fun), and looking LX/EX for road tripping (been doing it in 4x4s for 20+yrs) so a little road noise wont kill me. (i'm mostly deaf anyway)

ANYWAY... sell me on these. What to get, what not to bother with.

Re: Fng

i just got an 2009 civic EX 2dr AT and i love it driving to Ft. Campbell everyday its a nice ride and has power when i need it, and the transmission is very smooth as for the differences between the 2dr and 4dr it is like 100lbs - 200lbs, everything else is the same and with the LX to EX your looking at a sunroof it has a 140 HP (to the flywheel i think) i didnt get the NAV with mine because i have that in my FIT but the civic NAV unit has more goody's to play with ie. XM and blue tooth hope this helped if you have more questions just ask.

Re: Fng

Thanks One Fit Civic, i really think the ATs have come a long way in the smaller cars.
and i think the insurance on a 4dr is much lower as well. Trying to think smarter in the financial area now days.

I know these cars run forever... and they do look great.

Re: Fng

your right about the insurance part it would be about 10-25 bucks less per month if i got the 4 dr but i wanted to get the 2dr because thats what my 01 was and i am happy i did but my 01 was a MT but the MT is only covered for 1 year the AT is 5 years 100,000 miles so that part is up to you

I've looked at SI's for YEARS...
always wanted one, but now days, at my age, i'm just trying to be more sensible (sp?)

I found a Corvette Z06 i like... but WHY???? to wreck it, start getting tickets after 20+ years without ONE.

I really want a 8th gen, for a dependable classy (yet economical) ride.
then find me a projet car to break when i feel the need.

I told the wife if i do get one, i may get a suspension kit and sway bars, just to kill that "urge" to "make it my way".
