Re: Poor AM Reception

I live in Los Angeles and have a 08 Civic and have no problem with AM radio..if you live in a city with lots of tall buildings that could be your problem.
You might want to think about satellite radio like the XM option... they have great traffic reports for most of the major cities.

Re: Poor AM Reception

I to have tinted windows but the guy who sold me the window tint made sure he sold me tint that was compatible with the rear window. But that also could be the cause for poor reception be careful of what kind of tint you use.

Re: Poor AM Reception

I've had spotty AM reception in my Si since Day 1. My rear window is tinted 35% with non-metallic tint but I noticed the AM reception was poor before the tint was applied. I only listen to one AM station, it's a 50,000 watt "clear channel", and its less than 10 miles from me so I know it's not the station. It's not a constant problem though and usually it happens when there are no obstructions around me.

Re: Poor AM Reception

The AM reception is heavily dependent on atmospheric conditions and line of sight. Plus it is old technology. Most of the newer radios will get bad AM reception.
