premium sound head unit vs regular head unit

It looks like premium sound cars come with factory amps, but non premium sound car don't. So, premium sound head units don't have internal amp but have external amp, and non premium head units have internal amps. Is this right?

All 06/07 Civic has the same head unit...the EX and Si gets a larger amp, and that's all....not really premium sound.

I think twice the rated power,, a subwoofer and seperate tweeters, would qualify as premium sound.
