MagnaFlow Exhaust
MagnaFlow Exhaust
My first project; an exhaust system. I got 400$ (cdn) ready but I think I might need a little more so I'm gonna wait for two more weeks. As of now, I'm going for the MagnaFlow for around 450$ + shipping. I have access to tools and shop equipment so installation shouldn't be a problem + I've seen them install an exhaust system before at the shop.
Any suggestions?
I live in toronto so shipping is always a factor.
Any advice is appreciated
oh yea...i own a 4dr lx (stick obviously)

i have the magnaflow for my coupe, love it. It's one of those quite exhaust systems so i hope that's what u want, only really hear it roar when ur pushing it from 3k rpm up intil engine noise takes over it. Also if ur installing yourself make sure your ready for some fitment issues; i know there are some owners who had them, and some who the bolt on went right through. I just had to adjust what screws i was using (magna's where too long). But its a great system and one of the few options out there for us r18's right now besides custom piping, u'll def enjoy it if u purchase.
I have been hesitant in gettign the magnaflow exhaust because I am concerned about the noise levels. I have had my fun with tuning and hot rodding cars and want something more civil. I don;t want the droning sound while driving aroudn and definetly don;t want the "tin can on a lawnmower" sound. I figured magnaflow woudl have the exhaust set up along the lines of what i am looking for but I was still apprehensive. I know most of the annoying imports you hear buzzing around is mainly due to the mufflers and exhaust tips they use. A fully mandrel bent exhaust with a decently engineered muffler should not be too loud. I see the feed back Phantom Civic gave and it sounds like what i am looking for. Anyone else have the exhuast and any feedback on noise levels?
i dunno this is one thing i havent found 100% certainity is how much back pressure is sufficient for a n/a application....i know on a boosted application you want as little backpressure as possible cuz the back pressure makes the turbo have to work harder and the turbo creates enough back pressure for the engine to keep from buring valves from lack of back pressure
how is the fitment on 8th gen civics? i had one on my 04 ex and i agree that it sounded very good, but it didn't fit great, it hung very low and scraped the ground all of the time. also a guy on ebay sells magnafow. his store is called performance peddler 1-800-470-1443
Anyone looking for Magnaflow exhaust for their si, I found @ Magnaflow Exhaust Solutions-Hottexhaust.com for $370.82 shipped. It's part # 16688. Just add the si exhaust to your cart and enter the coupon code of "fordtruck8". Don't know how long it will be good for though.
