Great News From Apexi
I called them to tell them that i solved the problem with the VAFC for the 2001 with the help of others on this site. and they told me to send them an email.
Also in talking with the guy he said they are coming out with a VAFC2 that works with the D17a and I-VTEC in late july Early August. SO say by the end of august for sure. So either you get the VAFC1 now for under 300 on EBAY or get the VAFC for over 350 later. All should work but do not hold me or my DIY responsible for yours.
Just thought i would spread some cheer!!!!!!!

im stoked about the vafc2 if its gonna work with i vtec...ive been lookin for one for a few weeks now and am frustrated that i cant find any quality ones. apexi makes great products tho...so it should be super sweet!!!
so did you happen to ask how they are going to comensate for the people that got jacked by them and their 2001 civic EX diagram they released for the vafc1? i want a straight swap for the vafc2 or at least give me like 50% discount! grrr apexi' = pissing me off. they said they were just going to fix the vafc1 for us too those bastards making us pay more money now.

it was a fraid wire that stuck me. but i stopped the bleeding immediately (first aid 101 - apply preassure). lol
And yes the straight up cutting of the three required wires are painful as hell. but so worth it in the end!!!!!!!

you know i dont want to be rude or anything but i dont really believe anyone on here really solved the problem. All you did was just clarify in my diy or wangers diy what might have been backwards other than that you did not figure out as well as anyone else on this site to even use diodes so i believe you should rephrase that. and if anyone would check out my diy it will tell you exactly who FIGURED it out.
