help w/greddy
Alright I installed my greddy evo tonight…..and well everything was self explanatory under there, well leaving my shop (that I work at) I noticed a little vibration under the car…so I go back to the shop and realize that part of the mid-pipe close to the cat will knock and hit under the car,………..just wondering how to adjust the pipes to make this stop it gets real bad under there……ps I bought it used but looks to be in great condition, the guy said it was for a coupe and it bolted right up, is there a slight difference in the coupe and sedan that might cause this???
from what i remember, the evo for the sedan was just hanging too low on the coupe, i do not remember anything about it causing vibration. most likely, it is just vibrating on the heat shield, as does my tanabe and many other exhausts on our car when it rains. was it raining or anything when you left?
couldn't u get a big 0 ring thing, not sure whats its called
put some high temp insulator in between the 2 peicesof metal that are hiting and then tie it together so its tight and wont move?

what many of people have done is jus to rip off the heat shield. they havent had any problems yet.
if you look in the problems forum, then you'll find a lot of these threads complaining of vibrations when it rains and such.

I work at a muffler shop. I see this kind of thing at least 2 times a week.
here is what to do.
This works best if you have access to a lift.
Take a 2x4 and jam it between the parts that hit. Then take a welding torch and about 1 to 1/2 feet away from the block, heat up the pipe all the way around til its glowing red and use a prybar to bend the pipe. Do this until you have a good 1/4 - 1/2 inch clearance.

just make sure the hangars are in their proper positions. You dont want to stretch out your hangars, because they will break. And that will cause more damage than messing up the finish that nobody sees.
