CREATIVE INSTALL

Does anyone have any good ideas for an install on an autometer air/fuel guage.....More of a "shady" install more than anything

buy a gauge pod, if you dont want to be tacky, and dont want any major work ahead of you, and please don't buy a cheap universal one

Why would you put it somewhere where you couldn't see it at all? BTW... you need a spot 2 1/6" wide and about 3" deep to mount it... take that into consideration.

I think it'd be neat to redo the cupholders in the front (I have an 02 so I have that flip up cover thing) so there is a guage in the place of each cupholder. All you'd do is flip it up to see the guages. This would be easy for my model, but it would be harder to make it look clean in an 01.

could buy or find a used 02 console and replace the 01 with the 02 console. They arent that expensive

Wow, thats what I'm talking about guys, I like the cup holder idea, the vent set up is nice too. Unless I had a bunch of gauges, I dont think I would pop them in the glove compartment, nice set up though. Thanks guys, still open for more ideas...

another vote for the cupholder, you could easily make a round baffle to hold the guage that sits level in there, then drill a tiny hole in teh side of the cup holder for the wires.

or even get an aftermarket ash tray cup holder deal and pop it in that, so it would look all nice, and get the wires through both.

if you want something really unique, then put yrou guage in teh door. it would be a ittle work, but not really that much more than any of these other ideas. you could put a guage in teh map pocket, or you could cut a hole here youd have a tweter in the door, basically find any spot really where there is sufficient spacing in the inner metal skin of the door, liek where there is a hole.

i think it owuld look rather neat, personally
