Shift light without Tach

Wassup all,
Does any one noticed that CRX have a stock shift light right in the center of the cluster? If possible that we can built it just like that for EX 02?

If someone will tell me where to find the tach wire... I'll come up with the cheap way (I'm talking VTEC light cheap). I know how to do it, but I don't want to say until I'm sure it works. And once I'm sure, I'll tell all of you. So where's the wire?

Ya, so did alot of J-Bodies....They called it a 'dummy light' because it made you shift at such low RPM's...so pointless..

I think the tach wire is located by the battery, look for a blue wire or connector thats taped to the wiring harness. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

yes, its a solid blue wire. you can tap into it either from the cluster or near the plug coils, but then you'd have to run wire thru the firewall. easier and cleaner to do it from the cluster.

The blue wire with the silver splotches that I've marked with the arrow and dot is where you can tap into it for the signal...at least on a 2001 model. Not sure if that changed on the 2003+. (I put a sunpro tach in my dx)
