4700k is the Kelvin temperature, not the wattage. Why would you need a wiring harness? HID bulbs only burn at 35w, which is almost half what our stock bulbs burn at.

Bartkat had the lows only before he sold his Civic.

You do not need an extra wiring harness. but I would NOT buy that kit. If you look closely at the bulbs, they are D2R bulbs, also I don't see any type of glare shield. 8000K is way too high... you are just wasting light.

Here's my beam pattern with the auto-lamps online H4 HID kit with stock housing. The bulb has a shield to correct the beam pattern for halogen reflectors. As long as you aim your light correctly and with the correct beam pattern I think you can get away without the high beam. I now how Audi A6 hid projectors retrofitted to TYC projector housing and the beam pattern is much wider and is more useable. http://home.attbi.com/~evenq1/RetroFit/StockBeam.htm

Anyone has a picture of a D2S(?) bulb (the other kind of HID bulb?) with glare shield? Because I really don't know how they look like. If you can put arrow to the glare shield for the picture if its not obvious would be nice. TIA

This is the D2R bulb

And this is the D2S bulb

But you can see that the D2R bulb has a little bit of shielding on it... but it also takes away from the Lumens (lumens = light output) D2R bulbs have 2800 Lumens, and the D2S bulbs have 3200 lumens. ALso... the galre shield for the D2S buls is a kind of "adapter" to make it optically aligned for H4 housings, or for whatever model bulb you use.

wow, that's an excellent illustration. Thanks Hefe. Do they have both D2R and D2S bulb for all the bulb models? Because I heard sometimes only D2R bulb is available. From what I see from the picture, the D2R is just like the D2S bulb with the shielding inside the light bulb, but you[Hefe] made a previous statement about the D2R from the HID kit doesn't have shielding...can you explain a bit about that? Also where is the reflector suppose to come from? (ie. buy it? from headlight/projector housing? from kit?) Because it seems there are 2 different kind of reflectors so the headlamp housing provides seems to be either one or the other. Hehe, ALSO what light range is suppose to best? ( this seems to in debate a lot, please backup with reason)
Sorry for all the question, I kind of new to HIDs but really interested in puting one in my projector. TIA
