Alot of questions Please help

OK,

I am about to buy a camshaft and send it off to crower, also a AEM cam gear, V-AFC. would it be a good idea to get it all dynoed at the same time? I think i know the answer to this but need opinions.

Also what can we do to upgrade our fuel systems, please pe precise... Name, Model, Make. Do we use or can we use the AEM fuel rail , pressure guage and crap?

Also i finally found pistons for our cars at raceeng.com, saw it in supperstreet advertised at $460. So who make the rodes and where can i get them at a good price.

And don't worry people once all of this is done (may be a lil while) i will post proof unlike a member we all no and love...to hate.

If you can tell me if i am going in the right direction to better these damn engines or am i missing/skipping something. Other than a turbo. that will come later. Aslo i can't seem to get in touch with KMS for that damn intake manifold. Are they done doing there thing now!?

Thanks

I believe there was a post not too long ago of Crower making rods for our cars. I will see if I can find the link or you can search for it.

.5mm is the difference Anyways, it looks like you planning to spend a decent amount of money on the D serie engine...ever though about doing a swap first then mods for the K serie engine? If you thought about it and decided not to, can you tell me the reason, because I am saving up (slowly) to do the K swap, so I want to know what's the pro and cons... Thanks

pros are about 8,000 dollars less.

Cons i will never be as fast as a k20A

I already have an engine why buy another. plus i will only be spending about 4 grand. now tack that onto a new engine and your are going to spend 12,000 on your civic. If i wanted a K20A i would buy a RSX then mod it. Also you forgot the car loss for a month or so and the bill on hrs to add onto the final cost of your swap.

Basically i want to have fun with what i got even if you can beat me in a .25 mile. Atleast mine is a true civic.

Good idea! I've known shops to do bad installs on cam gears & loose power.

Don't worry about fuel upgrades unless you're expecting 200+ hp at the crank (not gonna happen anytime soon w/ the NA mods we have)

If you're gonna bump up the compression (via the pistons), be sure to run higher octane gas.

You may want to consider blueprinting injectors & an ECU upgrade/ re- program later.

Extrude hone the exhaust manifold; takes time & costs about as much as a CAM, but is worth it, considering our shorty headers.

I'd LOVE to see your dyno
