how hard is it to remove the needles/pointers on the guage. i'm thinking about making some custome guage faces and need to know if these will come off or not.

DON'T TAKE THE NEEDLES OFF. If you do, you'll mess up the calibration. You can get the reverse indiglos on without removing the needles.

try to put them on without taking off the needle, i bought a gauge cluster for my dx and it had apc indiglo guages on them and took them out and i messed up the calibration by removing the needle
Yes, like everyone else said, do not remove your needles. Removing and putting them back properly will screw up your calibration. I did that and it took me forever to get them properly calibrated. If you do here's three things to remember... 1) Have a full tank of gas first, 2) Warm your engine up for at least 15 minutes and mark where your needles are pointing, 3) Make sure the black o-rings on very tight and close to the gauge face as possible to avoid needle sticking. Ok here's what I did for each gauge specifically...
1. Oil - just point it at the bottom of the oil icon
2. Gas - point it the very top (slip on needle slightly and turn until you feel the stop then push in)
3. RPM - point to where you marked when stopped w/ engine running
4. This is the toughest, do like gas but at the bottom and make sure needle is put on very softly, just 1 very tiny push on.
Now take a test drive and rev past the redline and see if the rev limiter kicks in when its supposed to. Also, take to the track or somewhere (Airport) to see if your speed is accurate. You should be able to tell on your own too since you should know what max speeds per shift point are. Hope this helps you...
