Cat-Back systems sometimes tend to make more noise because they are alot less restrictive than just a bolt on muffler. But not all cat-backs are loud, some are but most sound quite good. I have the Magna-Flow catback and I love it, it sounds perfect to me, not to loud at all.

yes i agree with you ... in normal driving condition it amaizing but when you go on high speed around 100km/h or more it will be extremely noisy ... i have the Greddy Evolution cat back ... is it possible to control that ... do you think that a supercharger may affect the sound !!
You can check for cat backs at the nopi website … here is the link … I think the skunk cat back is loud !!

I know what ya meen bout 'noisy mufflers', my bud has a mistu galant with no silencers at all with a universal straight flow muffy. it is annoying as hell, sounds like a straight off the heads free pipe on a six cylinder "bluh bluh bluh bluh bluh bluh bluuuuuuhhhhhhh!!" lol
as far me i have a universal APC muffler no cat back no headers. it sound good from the back of the car and inside while driving and at higher speeds but you cant even tell i have one from the front. all you here is engine. sooo i got me some apc headers comin in next week YaY!

For folks who don't have an exhaust yet, you should consider Supertrapp. Superwho? Yeah man, most people have no clue. I got into them when I used to have them on my motorcycles. They rock and they cost a lot less than most of the Rice-boy cans. Key to Supertrapp is it uses diffuser discs so you can tune it in terms of sound and powerband. At idle it is quiet and you can tune it so that even at highway speed it is pretty quiet, just sounds "good", and only screams if you take it to WOT.
But best thing about the 'Trapp is looks, man! Check it out for yourselves. http://www.supertrappind.com/Automot...otive_page.htm
You almost never see one but since I've had mine on my 'Vic I get a lot of inquiries, people rolling up to me at redlights and asking, "what is it and where can i get one?", etc.
Yo, if your pipe is loud now, yeah w/ a supercharger of course it's gonna be LOUDER. That much bigger of a bang heading down the pipes and out the back....

hey spookini, that sounds pretty nice, man. deep; not ricey at all. so how much did you pay for yours? and is it a muffler or the entire catback? and yeah, looks pretty unique; i'd have to see it up close to really decide it i'd get it.....but cool. thanks for letting us know about it...
I got a S/C model from summitracing.com 2 yrs. ago, think it was $140. It's a muffler, not a cat-back, just clamps onto your existing pipe. I got a custom exhaust shop to put it on for $30 or so. Definitely unique, which I like. But the ability to tune it is the best feature, IMO.
