I don't know waht he was talkin about when he said "push the bar up". Here is how I did it. I took a flathead screw driver and just pried it from the edges very carefully.

Basically there are 2 clips for each corner. Start with the left side, stick the prying tool right in the middle of the left side. Push all the way in. Slowly pull out. Some of the plastic edge may bend. Just be careful.
Work your way up and down the side until the clips on that side pop out. Do this for all sides. And you can push in the back of your CD player to help.

DON'T PRY PLEASE! Prying is bad... ak means that there is a metal bar(where you unskrewed the two bolts). There is also another one RIGHT ON TOP OF IT( laying on it!) push that one towards you and up. With a little power it will work!

After you take the screws out, try this. Take a useless credit card and slide in the top of the center dash. This will you give separation. Now just on the back of the credit card and the top definitely will pop out. I know it feels like you are going to bend it but you just have trust that it won't. (well hopefully not). After the top clips are out the other ones are easy. Now, just use a combination of pull of the center dash and push of the bar. This worked for me.

Mine was a paint at first, prying, pulling pushing...Now I take it out within 10-15 seconds (good or bad lol). After the bottom two screws come out, if you end up prying it, wrap a flathead with a thin rag so you dont scratch and pieces if the screw driver slips.
