you only need one if the intake you're using doesn't have a hole leading to your crankcase. I used one when I used my ghetto diy intake

The breather hose runs out of the front of the air box. I suppose you could a breather filter on if you really wanted, but our cars don't use them.

filters are just for looks, duhhhh.... if you wanted real performance you wouldn't put filters on anything because they add weight and are way too restrictive

thank you for proving your extensive knowledge for the world.
a filter does exactly what its name implies...it FILTERS the air. ya know...keep dirt from being ingested into your precious D17. how would you like a big ol' fly to be sucked into your cyclinder? have you seen how much dirt a filter actually keeps ot of your engine? run without a filter for a bit...see how long its gonna take you to post "HELP! DIRT IN ENGINE! HOW TO GET OUT?!" in the tech section. weight? not that heavy. how bout that tub of lard you call your girlfriend [/flame]

i'd like to apologize to the rest of the 7thgen communtity for this flame...but it was needed IMO

I consider myself as a nice kid and I try to keep flames down unless you're really asking for it...
But after reading your comment....

HOLY S**T BATMAN, WHAT A FREAKIN MORON!!!!!!
PVC valve, Intake piping, intercooler ect...
WIthout proper filters you're engine wouldn't last.
Who's to say filters are a restriction anway? Don't assume the more air you get per sqaure cm is better not to mention the density in which it is flowing. Put a freakin 8 inch diamter exhuast system by your retarded statement to lessen restrictions and increase performance, see what that does, why don't you jus open your throttle flange wide.
And filters weighing too much? STFU or get off the crack buddy.....

Man o man, this site is packed with ppl who needs to accutally learn/work on cars and watch less 'The Slow and the Ridiculous'.
