I have no tint and i seem to get in most of the stations around here Maybe it's becuase i only listen to the strongest ones, but i get most of the local AM sprts stations in fine.

FYI tinting is on the inside of the window so I don't think it would hurt reception....

My reception on on my radio was fine. UNTIL, I got my windows tinted. And now the radio picks up reception fine, until I turn on the defrost, then everything just gets a lot of distortion.

So it is possible to be window tint.

I bet the reason your reception is bad when you turn on your defroster is because the tint shop probably cut the defrost wire or antenna wire. The wire probably isn't cut all the way through but enough to short out your antenna. Window tint isn't the cause of your problems, I bet it was the install. My antenna works fine with window tint and the defrost on.

My theory about it is that the tint has some metallic properties to it and this makes a current connecting the defrost to the antenna. This is what I think causes the interference. I don't mind though. I barely ever use my defrost, and if I do I just turn on a CD.

I have Titanium tint on my windows with no problems, if you have no tint and the defrost screws with your reception I'd take it to the dealer.
