remote lock
Okay I got a new panasonic cd player. I guess I didn't know too much about wiring because I connected it to the wiring harness and everything looked good. But it didn't work. However, this is not my biggest problem. My remote lock and unlock thing doesn't work. Any ideas why this happened?
did u leave your factory deck hooked up? i was told by a guy a sound advice that for me too keep the remote working they would have to leave the factory deck wired up and just push it back into the dash. i dont know how true this info is but i guess that would explain your problem!

This is true, the keyless remote works through the factory radio and antenna, when my friend bought a new 98 Civic, Sound Advice said the same thing and just put the stock radio up under the dash. She had no problems and everything worked great.

thats the biggest load of BS I ever heard.... I have had an aftermarket radio in my car since the day I bought it and never had a problem with the keyless remote not working.... sounds like you shorted something out, make sure you always disconnect your battery when doing ANYTHING electrical on your car...

I dont know anything about the 6th gen civics and their keyless entry but I do know that I bought my civic from the dealer and they installed my keyless entry at no charge. A week later I had my pioneer head unit installed and my keyless entry still works. I know they didn't put my stock head unit behind my old one cause it was sitting in my passenger seat when i picked my car up from the audio shop.

Okay, I know that definitely that you do need the dash radio player for 6th generation civics have not the case for 7th gen. Besides I already had an aftermarket player before this new one. So that's not the problem. People tell me that they think I blew a fuse. Anyone know which fuse is for keyless entry?

I too have an aftermarket deck like a lot of people here, and mine works fine. I would say start looking at fuses under the hood. When i put my deck in, i blew a fuse that was the accessory fuse under the hood, a 10, I think. But what I did was pull 1 fuse at a time look at it, and than put it back. That fixed my problem.
