I know its possible, I think the wiring is already there.... I'm not sure exactly how to do it, but it should be easy.

Woot, all plug & play, like the back of your computer! Everythings as it should be, however there is still controversy over mileage bull crap.

Your old miles will not be onthe replacement tach you will be installing.

that is funny cuz about 2 months ago i asked a guy at honda if i could get the LX gauges so i could have the tach, and he said i didn't want to do that, becau seit would cost me a shitload of money, because it was COMPLETELY different wireing and it would be a shitload of work. but you say it is easy

Do you have the replacement tach? if so, look at the top, They're all made like that, It's just what's on the face of the tach that makes them diferent. We're not talking about Windows and Macintoshs here.

Just because you didn't opt for an arm rest, doesn't mean you don't have that little brace that holds it (inside the chair) so you can DIY yourself later on. It's all there.

Yes you can do it. I just bought an LX cluster gauge on Monday so it should arrive any day now. I'll reply and let you know how it works.

Yes you can swap any cluster so far except for the new 2003 civic cluster into a dx civic. I have the lx cluster in my dx because the dx and lx have no abs. Yes the wire is already inside the wiring harness, the only problem that you will run in to is that your new cluster will start over at 0. I have already posted phone numbers that raise millege on car clusters. As far as the install process, it is as easy as taking your old cluster out, and installing the new one in its place.
Replying to asianmatrix02 question, dont even waste your time or money installing a lx cluster. The reason for this is,
1. The ex has abs, which has a light built into the cluster for abs.
2, The lx and dx civic models, do not have abs, so there is no abs light built into the cluster.
If you really want to have white face gauges do what I did. Just spend 20 to 30 bucks on white face indiglo gauges. Look at the link below to see what Im talking about.

Hope this helps

Here are the Phone numbers as promissed.

Palo alto speedometer inc
718 emerson street
palo alto 94301-2410
650-323-0243

also
Specmo Enterprises

This is what My work computer says for cluster repair, hope this helps.

Can Honda dealerships adjust the mileage on the cluster? Also like I said earlier I just bought an lx gauge but the place I bought it from wasn't sure of the mileage, so is there anyway to check without actually installing in your car first?

Yes If you Buy a Brand new gauges cluster from honda it will read 0 miles. But if you buy a guage cluster from a working car the miles that, that car has traveled stays inside the gauge cluster, even when you install it into your car. so lets say if your dx stock cluster has 10,000 miles, try to find a used gauge cluster from a LX that has the same millege. Honda dealerships will not raise millege on a gauge cluster, instead they install a door jam sticker stating the orginal miles and that the gauge cluster has been changed. This is why I gave you guys phone numbers to try. Instead of the Honda dealership actully re writing the cluster with the correct miles, there is always a option to sub let the labor out to a speedo place to repair the cluster. Give it a shot, I know that the 6th gens you can have the millege changed, but as far as the 2001 and up, your going to have to call a speedo repair shop to see if they can help you.

Why do you keep insisting the LX doesn't have ABS??!?!?!

My 2002 LX has ABS...

My friends' 2002 LX's have ABS...

I don't get it?

Was it because mine was the 'special edition' (OEM body kit + rims + etc)? I didn't think that was in the 'package'???

I thought all LX's come with ABS?

somebody?

the problem is that i don't really like the indiglo cause it doesn't match anything in my car. i like the stock amber lights. anyways does anyone know if someone makes or going to make white gauges for our cars and it will still keep the factory amber lights??
