No cat?
No cat?
If you were to remove the cat on , lets say a 2002 ex, would that harm anything?
Would there still be enough backpressure for the motor to work correctly?
If you goto testpipe.com you can buy test pipes, or even fake cats.
Thanks

lets say u searched, by using the search function, u would find out that no it doesnt do any harm.
if you need to have emissions testing done every year....u wont pass without a cat. by removing the cat...ur only hurting the environment, but u will get some increase in HP.

you will be lucky to get any gains above 2-3hp.... IF ANYTHING at all.
And let's not be so flamey about trying to educate a member to search.

cars provide DC power (the cig lighter is 12v DC), while ps2 needs AC power.. how did u wire the power? use an inverter?
man i wouldn't take the cat off and yes you can mess up your engin because of all the sensors that are hooked up to your cat!! plus the hp gain isn't much just alot louder! but yeah you won't pass inspection..the latest models of civics are more computerized and have alot more sensors and stuff that will mess up the engin if you take them off, prolly not a big prob if you take it off but if you do just be careful good luck man

I remember u once asked a simple question about hooking up a ps2 through the power outlet. Why is it that people like you post questions without searching also, yet bash others for not?. hrm?

No one knows exactly how much of a gain you will get as we have no dyno charts. However, every member that has done this has been very pleased and noticed definate gains. The hp header w/high-flow cat and the Kam w/testpipe are basically the parts to have for our cars. Common concensus is that they give the most bang for the buck.
No ecu worries. You simply get a simulater for the cat sensor. It makes the ecu think everything is normal. Many, many members have done this mod and everything is fine.

i've ran without a cat when i got my custom piping done. the shop messed up and chopped off my cat, and ran 2.25" piping from the downpipe back. my check engine light was on, and i was running rich like no other, but i must say i had some nice gains. even in my AUTO, i could squeal the tires when taking off from a redlight without giving it full throttle. its nice, but 1) LOUD. my friends could hear my car when i was about 2miles away 2) need 02 simulator 3)smog test, if any.. (i didnt read all the posts on this thread so i duno.. you might have mentioned it).
where i live, theres no smog tests, but i couldnt take the loudness anymore. so i made the shop find my cat and install it for free. now it feels like my car is stock again
