HID Question

Please help. What size HID should I get?
I have TYC projectors on order, but I need to order my HID systems now... what size should I get H4 9003 H1?
anyone who has done this please let me know what you did, and how pleased or not pleased you are with it.
thanks

H1 D2S is what works the best from what I hear. Because you are getting TYC's, you will need an H1 bulb.

This is Unleaded's HID kit that he got off of E-bay. Low's only.

So are you asking if there is a HID kit that uses one bulb for the low beam, that is also functional as a high beam in H1. Well no. Most of the time you don't need brights with HIDs, but it won't be hard to wire in the high beam projector thats already present to work.

Or are you asking if there is a HID kit that has one set of bulbs for low beams and another set for high beams. No. A lot of places sell a hid kit for 600. And thas the kind I just mentioned above. If you want something like this. Go on ebay and buy 2 hid kits. I posted a link to hid kits on ebay earlier this week and netbc has the kit on ebay that is 299. He said it is very bright and very good quality. So If you want Hids in your low beam projectors AND Hids in your high beam projectors, go on ebay and get 2 kits for basically the price of one at many other shops.

Ok, thanks Kappa, you answered my question perfectly....
so they dont make a HID kit with one set of bulbs for low and another set for hi...
Would I still be able to put H1 Silverstars in my Projectors Hi beam spot, in case I ever wanted to turn them on?
would that still work the same?

and I think I found a HID kit I want.... I was just worried that it said low beams only...

-Michael

P.S. Also, how do you wire up TYC projectors? H1 bulb in low beam spot and H1 projector in hi beam spot? (do I have to rewire the whole setup?
because we have H4's which run off one bulb...

I have the TYC's also. It comes with a wiring harness that plugs right into the existing plug. No modification needed.

They had better be, or else BMW and Mercedes and other companies are breaking the law.

Ok I'm going to straighten this out right now. I had TYC projectors and both the high beam and low beam bulbs are different. They are not both H1. The low beam is in fact an H3, but the high beam is H1. If you're buying an HID kit for the low beam you will have to look for a bulb similar to an H3.

i believe projectors come with a wiring harness that goes into the factory plug. i wouldn't know since i don't own any, though. you could get two sets of HID's, though it'd be a good idea to get new wires, as HID's draw more current when igniting. also, switching to another set of HID for hi beams would be almost totally useless because it takes a few seconds or more for the bulb to fully "warm up", making it impossible to "flash" others instantly. they do make dual-beam HID's for h4 applications. SPW uses a reflector that shifts when you switch to hi beams to project the beam further. they use hella ballasts and osram bulbs. raybrig japan also makes something similar, but of much higher quality, and much higher price. i have seen the raybrigs first hand on a car at my sponsor's shop, and those things are hot however, i would recommend for you to have HID for your lows, and regular H1 bulbs for your highs.
