Lower tie bar question
Hi I'm Alex and new to the forum. I work for Superior Pontiac Gmc. Recently I purchased a lower tie bar for my 02 ex coupe. I tried getting one of techs to install it for me. I figured it would take about 20 mins if they put it on the hoist. And i would buy him lunch. But he told me that if he installed it, it would interfere with the rear toe. And it would take longer. I don't think this is true I think he just doesn' want to do it. please help. And Yes I tried the search!!
I dont know what the tech was talking about. If he wont do it, just jack up the back and put it on. It's really easy. Just make sure when you take out the bolts that the control arms dont fall, because from what I hear they are hard to get back up. I just put my jack stands under the control arms and to be safe I had an extra jack under the control arm where I removed the bolt and I had no problems. Nothing came out of line. The bolts went back in perfectly. You have to take out the bolt on the passenger side first, so I had the extra jack under that control arm first. Once I got that side of the bar in, I moved the extra jack over to the drivers side. Everything went right in.

I think the most important step is using something to HOLD the control arms. or else you're gonna spend countless hours trying to align it.
